For Iran’s foreign policy, the most important thing is to work with its neighbors on ensuring peace in the region, Seyed Kazem Sajjadpour, Deputy Foreign Minister and President of Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), suggests. “We live with each other, we have a common destiny, so we need to secure our neighborhood”, he states. Considering the question of Iran-US escalation, he asserts that Iran is not going to start a war, and the contradictions within the United States themselves make this worst outcome unlikely.
